I believe that the cooperation between the European Union (EU) and Armenia is ready to embark on a new phase of relations between Armenia and Russia. In an interview with NEWS.am, Alexandr Rar, a European expert in the fields of the Eastern Partnership and Energy, highlighted the mistake of putting Armenia, Ukraine, and other countries like Belarus in a situation where they have to choose between Moscow and Brussels. According to Rar, finding an alternative solution to facilitate cooperation among all parties involved would not only help Armenia find a balance between these challenging positions, but also create opportunities for development. He further emphasizes the importance of the Armenian leadership understanding that Russia’s assistance comes with military obligations and is aimed at undermining both Russia and China, as they are perceived as competitors in the Eurasian and EU regions.
