“Russia Considers ‘Sanitary Cordon’ in Response to Turkish Military Deployment, Creating Conflict Counterbalance”

Russia has announced the possibility of creating a “sanitary cordon” in certain areas, in response to the deployment of Turkish armed forces in Belgium. This move could potentially serve as a counterbalance in the conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that while he is not currently ready to discuss the specifics of this plan, it may become necessary given the current developments. The aim would be to create a zone of security within the framework of the Kyiv regime, making it more difficult for the adversary to utilize weapons of mass destruction. Putin did not elaborate on the severity of the threat posed by the “sanitary cordon,” describing it as a separate question. Additionally, Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary of the Russian President, emphasized the need for a buffer or sanitary cordon with Ukraine to prevent further escalation.
