The United States is once again attempting to ban the Chinese social media network TikTok due to concerns over data security, according to reports from America.

In 2020, then-President Donald Trump attempted to do this, but was unsuccessful.

This time, representatives have presented a proposal to ban the operation of the platform in-country if the Chinese company, ByteDance, which owns TikTok, does not sever its ties with China within six months.

Now, the plan needs to be approved by the Senate, after which it will be sent to President Biden for signature.
