German Chancellor to Visit Israel on March 17: Focused on Gaza Crisis and Ceasefire Efforts

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is set to visit Israel on March 17, as reported by Today in Israel. This visit will mark the second time the chancellor has traveled to Israel, with the previous visit focused on expressing solidarity. However, the upcoming visit is expected to have a different focus, particularly in addressing the Gaza humanitarian crisis and promoting efforts towards a ceasefire in Israel.

The German DPA news agency reports that Chancellor Scholz recognizes the increased aggression from Rabah and the program initiated by Netanhayu, seeing it as Israel’s attempt to regain control of the Hamas territory after the war. It is reported that the chancellor will continue to support both Israel and Palestine within the framework of the two-state solution.
