“Armenia Pushes for Official Recognition of Ottoman Empire Massacres Amidst Peace Process”

The pursuit to continue open discussions on the recognition of the massacres/genocides of the Ottoman Empire for the Republic of Armenia has become more evident. The aim is to have strong official documents supporting these claims and achieve a deadline for the liberation of those territories. The request to illustrate the Armenian side’s position regarding the determination of the location where the Representative of the President of Armenia and the Foreign Minister of Armenia have announced that the Republic of Armenia does not have the right to interfere outside the boundaries of the occupied territories of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the location where the authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan have the right to exercise self-determination, was also made.

In response to this issue, the Office of the Prime Minister has stated that the whole Republic of Armenia is ready to participate in the peace process. The Republic of Armenia is willing to participate in the peace process in the same format as the territories of Tavush province. It is important to note that during a previous conversation with Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, specific information about the situation from January 31 was requested. However, we were informed that there is a condition of confidentiality regarding the publication of the official letter of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the conclusions of the Public Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. Therefore, detailed discussions are not allowed.

The emphasis was made that there have been no other preconditions during this last meeting.
