“Salary Reduction Contemplated for Participants of 25-Day Military Gatherings: Inside the Closed-door Meeting with Papikyan and Officials”

“Zhoghovurd” newspaper has reported that the salary for participants in the 25-day military gatherings will be reduced. Yesterday, Suren Papikyan, the Chief of Staff of the Defense Minister, attended a closed-door meeting of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security Issues of the National Assembly, along with other high-ranking officials. The meeting was focused on discussing the details of daily programs in the military, with the main issue being the reduction of salary for participants in the 25-day military gatherings. Papikyan’s presence at the meeting highlights the importance of this issue. The active service offers either financial incentives or a military response, which involves a non-enforcement period of 2 months to 2 years. It has been informed that the completion of the draft needs to be done before the establishment of the State of Emergency in order to avoid any ambiguity in the explanation. It is worth mentioning that the new 25-day military gatherings for reservists in Armenia will start from January 2024 and continue until April 12. These gatherings are mandatory for all reservists aged between 20 and 55. More detailed information will be provided in today’s issue of the newspaper.
