Former Armenian Prime Minister Vahan Kerobyan Faces Investigation as Corruption Scandal Deepens, Joghovurd Newspaper Reports

“Joghovurd” newspaper reports that former Prime Minister of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, is currently under investigation. His trial is taking place at the Court of Criminal Appeals. On March 11, Lilit Hakobyan filed a complaint against Vahan Kerobyan, the former prime minister of the economy, requesting the nullification of a court decision issued on February 8, 2024, with the case number 244-K.

It is important to note that Vahan Kerobyan has previously been accused of corruption related to the “Sinergy” project and is currently under house arrest since February 16. His decision at that time resulted in the arrest of a citizen.

Furthermore, as part of efforts by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia to investigate corruption cases, eight individuals have been interrogated regarding criminal activities connected to corruption. This interrogation was based on evidence provided by representatives of the “S” company, who had meetings and phone conversations with them. To ensure transparency and fairness in the competition, the documents submitted by the “S” company representatives can be examined to clarify their participation in the competition and establish new or amended conditions if necessary.

This criminal incident has also affected Ashot Hovhannisyan, the sister of the head of the RA NA, and Ani Gevorgyan, the director of the “Sinergy” company, along with others. More detailed information can be found in today’s issue of the newspaper.
