“European Union and European Parliament Agree on Visa Liberalization Process with Armenia and Artsakh: Boosting Cooperation and Security”

The European Union and the European Parliament have reached an agreement on the visa liberalization process between Armenia and Artsakh. Eurostat reports that discussions were held during a meeting with European officials to discuss the start of the process of visa liberalization with Armenia. This is in relation to the comprehensive and effective implementation of the Visa Facilitation and Readmission Agreements.

Furthermore, the European Union welcomes the conclusion of the agreement between the EU and the Republic of Armenia. This agreement will allow the transfer of operational personal data between the European Court of Justice and the competent bodies of Armenia. The purpose of this transfer is to enhance cooperation in criminal matters, contributing to the fight against crime and ensuring security.

It is important to note that the European Parliament has adopted a resolution today, calling for the examination of Armenia’s European integration prospects. This resolution has received support from the European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice, and Home Affairs. The acceptance of the agreement was supported by 504 votes in favor, with 4 votes against and 32 abstentions.
