“Armenian Prime Minister dismisses Azerbaijan’s claims over disputed villages: ‘Not on our maps,’ says Pashinyan”

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the issue of four villages demanded by Azerbaijan during his visit to Asulis. According to him, these villages do not exist on Armenian maps. On March 13, during a press briefing, Gagik Melkonyan, the spokesperson for the ruling My Step bloc, reiterated this stance. When asked if Armenia had given the villages to Azerbaijan, Melkonyan replied, “No. What belongs to our territory is ours, and what doesn’t belong to our territory is not ours, and we have no claim over it.”

Responding to a question about why Azerbaijan is demanding these villages if they are not within Armenian territory, Melkonyan stated, “They are being discussed, and you are jumping to conclusions. Part of the road to Voskepar remains within their territory. Currently, we have control over Artsvashen, and it falls within our territory. The same applies to Tigranashen. Discussions are ongoing regarding any potential changes in the territories.”
