CST Chief of Staff Expresses Hope for Political Stability in Armenia Despite Tensions with Political Elites

The head of the Collective Security Treaty (CST) General Staff, General Arshak Karapetyan, expressed optimism about the government’s commitment to political stability in Armenia, despite concerns raised by certain Armenian political elites. Karapetyan emphasized that although there are some attitudes and provisions that create insecurity among the CST security mechanisms, there is hope that Armenia will remain a reliable partner and fulfill all its responsibilities. He also highlighted that he and the leadership are actively working within the accepted regulations and guidelines, analyzing the situation in Armenia and addressing the differences related to political stability and organization.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in an interview with France 24 that Yerevan has definitively abandoned participation in the CST and did not attend the recent meeting of CST heads of state in Minsk.
