“Armenia’s Non-Participation in CSTO Activities Raises Questions About Membership Status”

Yerevan has not been participating in the activities of the Organizing Committee of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on security measures. However, the organization has not made any official announcements regarding the withdrawal of Armenia’s membership. This information was confirmed by Igor Kazimirov, Secretary-General of the CSTO, in an interview with TASS.

The Secretary-General stated, “Yerevan’s decision not to participate in the CSTO’s organizing committee is respected by the organization. As an international organization, we honor the sovereign decisions made by any member state. We routinely keep the Armenian authorities informed of the decisions and actions taken by the member countries.”

Regarding the withdrawal of membership, there have been no official announcements received by the Organizing Committee from Yerevan, according to statements by the authorities of the Republic of Armenia.

These are the latest developments in Armenia concerning its involvement in the activities of the CSTO.
