The head of the Russian military forces, Admiral Nikolay Yevmenov, has been relieved of his position and will be replaced by Admiral Aleksandr Moiseev, according to Izvestia. Yevmenov had been in charge of the Northern Fleet since May 3, 2019, and Moiseev will now take over the role. Similarly, in April 2023, Admiral Sergey Avakyants stepped down as the head of the Pacific Fleet, and Viktor Liinan, who is also the head of the Baltic Fleet, was appointed as his replacement.
