Yesterday, Zareh Sinanyan, the representative of the Armenian community in Gyurikh, Shvairia, held a meeting with a large number of community representatives to express condolences and offer support. Manuk Malkhasyan, another representative of the Armenian community in Gyurikh, wrote about this meeting and shared video footage. He questioned how one could categorize those who were once part of the community but are now denied citizenship in a cultural diaspora. This discussion arose due to a tragic incident in Artsakh. The community representatives revealed that the incident started when Karo Ohanyan, a community representative, insulted the Armenian flag displayed on students. Sinanyan addressed this, stating, “It would have been better if you displayed the Armenian flag for your students.” The community representatives expressed outrage at Sinanyan’s behavior, accusing him of being an incompetent and disrespectful representative. They declared that they rejected him as their representative, but Sinanyan reminded them that he was elected by the people. The community representatives also criticized Sinanyan’s statement, claiming that it only served to divide the Diaspora.
