“Turkey and US Ministers Meet to Discuss National Security: Enhancing Military Cooperation and Resolving Conflicts in Ukraine and Syria on the Agenda”

The meeting between the Foreign Affairs Ministers of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, and the US, Jake Sullivan, was recently reported by TRT. Although specific topics were not mentioned, the main focus of the discussion was on national security issues.

During the meeting held in Washington, the importance of enhancing cooperation in military support and progressing in bilateral relations was emphasized. One of the key topics that was discussed was the necessity of resolving conflicts in Ukraine while maintaining territorial and political integrity.

Another significant issue that was highlighted during the meeting was the need for additional assistance in humanitarian efforts in Gaza. Furthermore, increasing support for diplomatic negotiations was also emphasized.

Tackling the challenge of terrorism and conflicts in Syria was another important point of discussion. Turkey reiterated its commitment to counteract terrorist organizations and called on the United Nations to cooperate in order to undermine the support for the PKK.

The ongoing conflict in Iraq and the protection of political stability and territorial integrity were also addressed during the meeting. Both parties expressed their interest in finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

The Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and the importance of organizing the situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan were also discussed. It was mentioned that successful developments in the peace process would contribute to peace and stability in the Caucasus region.
