“Yerevan’s Public Transportation Budget Soars to $4.5 Million for New Buses, Urgent Upgrade Needed”

The annual expenses for public transportation in the field of urban transport will reach 18 billion drams (about 4.5 million dollars) when purchasing new buses. This information was announced by Armen Galjyan, the head of the Yerevan Urban “Community Contract” group, during the general discussions on March 7.

According to Galjyan, these expenses have amounted to 10 billion drams annually up until now. He emphasized the importance of both cost optimization and upgrading the public transport network in the next 10 years.

Additionally, Galjyan highlighted the significant “deficit” in the field of urban transport, which means that calculating the demand and other important economic indicators becomes difficult.
