“New Bill Proposed in Armenia to Ease Tax Payments for Vehicle Owners”

The head of the “Civil Contract” faction, Babken Tunyan, announced on his Facebook page that he and his colleague Narek Zeinalyan have submitted a bill to the parliament. If accepted, the bill will require payment of only the previous year’s taxes during the period of technical inspection until December 1. The current mandatory schedule allows property taxes to be paid until December 1 of each year. However, there is another provision in the schedule that requires individuals involved in technical equipment replacement transactions to pay the full property tax obligations until the expiration of the technical inspection for that tax year. Therefore, even if you undergo technical inspection for your vehicle in January or February and have no outstanding taxes from previous years, you are still obligated to pay the entire property tax for that year.
