“Moldovan Opposition Leader Threatens to Expel Russian Media Executive from Airport: Geopolitical Tensions Escalating”

Moldovan opposition leader, Ilan Shor, has announced the potential expulsion of Russian media executive, Yevgeniya Guseva, from Kishinev airport. Guseva is expected to return from the international forum of youth of the Eurasian Union, which was held in Russia from March 1 to 7. Shor revealed during an interview with Rossiya 24 that there is information suggesting Guseva will be expelled at the airport, and his team, consisting of several individuals, supports this decision. The municipal government claims that Guseva is currently waiting for the resolution of the conflict between the leadership of Gagauzia and the Moldovan government.

After winning the 2023 elections, Guseva announced a geopolitical agreement with Russia. This agreement encompasses the political situation in the Transnistrian region and the resolution of the Chisinau administrative leadership, led by Moscow’s envoy to Tiraspol, with the Moldovan government. Subsequently, President Maya Sandu of Moldova signed a directive authorizing Guseva as a member of the administration responsible for managing these relationships.

During the World Youth Forum in Sochi, Guseva discussed Moldova’s political situation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of Gagauzia’s administration expressed her concerns about the actions of the Moldovan administration, which she believes undermine the sovereignty and national interests of her country. Guseva shared these sentiments on Telegram.
