Armenian Government Shifts National Security Officer’s Day to January 8th

The government of Armenia has made the decision to change the date of the National Security Officer’s Day. Instead of being celebrated on December 20th, it will now be observed on January 8th. According to the National Security Service of Armenia, amendments will be made to the “Law on National Security Officers in the Field of National Security” and the “Regulation on the Organization of National Security Forces in the Republic of Armenia” on January 8, 2024. This change is a result of a proposal to annually celebrate the National Security Officer’s Day on January 8th.

The purpose of this proposed regulation is to align the date of the National Security Officer’s Day with the objectives of the National Security Service. The aim is to commemorate January 8th as the official day to celebrate National Security Officers.
