“Zhoghovurd Exposes Lavish Spending: Armenian Public Administration Plans Million-Dram Purchase of Office Furniture and Appliances”

“Zhoghovurd” newspaper reports that the Public Administration of the Republic of Armenia (PARA) has scheduled the procurement of office furniture and small appliances, with a total cost of 1,568,000 AMD, starting from January 2024. The contract covers the furnishing of 16 office rooms, one of which has already incurred an expense of 40,000 AMD. The described furniture consists of upholstered chairs with rotating wheels and wooden armrests. The chairs have a high backrest, a 3 cm cushion, and are made of connected polypropylene with sealed plastic parts.

In addition, another contract includes the purchase of a small cabinet priced at 90,000 AMD. The cabinet’s specifications dictate that it should have external dimensions of 180x80x92 cm and be constructed from wood materials such as veneered DSP and veneered DVP, arranged in a non-opening configuration.

The third contract, worth 839,000 AMD, encompasses the acquisition of six cabinets, desks, and tables. Among these, four cabinets cost 336,000 AMD each, one costs 11,000 AMD, and the final one is priced at 492,000 AMD. It is worth mentioning that a similar purchase was previously made for a building that had remained without a director for a year. However, with the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Artur Gasparian has been appointed as the temporary position holder, warranting the need for new furniture to improve the organization accordingly.
