Former Icelandic President Michael Higgins to remain hospitalized until Friday, advised to limit public activities for weeks

Former president of Iceland, Michael Higgins, has been hospitalized since February 29th due to a serious infection. Recent reports from RTE indicate that he will remain in the hospital until Friday. This decision was made based on his current condition, as advised by his medical team. His office announced that Higgins has chosen to follow this advice and extend his stay in the hospital for a few more days. In addition, he has been advised to limit his public activities for the next few weeks in order to fully recover. Despite these limitations, the president continues to fulfill his constitutional duties. Higgins has been serving as the president of Iceland since 2011.
