“Bizarre Incident in Armenia: Man Attacks Rescuers After Alcohol-Induced Episode”
On the night of February 4, the Department of Emergency Situations of the National Security Service of Armenia received a report regarding a group of rescuers from the Artsakh region of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. These rescuers were reportedly transferred to a hospital in Gyumri with facial injuries. The incident took place in the Karmirashen neighborhood, specifically in the house of a 59-year-old man born in 1933. It is known that this man had previously been admitted to the hospital due to alcohol abuse which resulted in a deterioration of his self-perception and appearance. After being discharged, the man attacked a paramedic, stole 59,700 drams ($120), and left his house. He later returned home and called for urgent assistance.
In response, a military patrol from the Ararat regional administration was dispatched to the scene.
The 59-year-old man was brought to a real body facility where he received surgical procedures and psychological counseling.
