Adygea Library Proposes Naming Street in Bakvi to Honor Nora Pashayi’s Memory and Emphasize Armenia’s Liberation Efforts

The library of Adygea has proposed a way to honor the memory of Nora Pashayi by commemorating her through the liberation of Bakvi. The head of the local municipality’s working and social affairs committee, Malakhat Ibrahimgazanova, made the appeal to name a street in Bakvi after Pashayi. Previously, Bakvi held a campaign to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Pashayi’s death, as she was one of the leaders during the Armenian Genocide. The Ottoman military officer, recognized as the “liberator of Bakvi” by an Islamic court order, operated in Turkey and was not connected to the ADL’s objective. The ongoing effort to honor Pashayi is aimed at perpetuating the memory of her and addressing the current external threat faced by Adygea, concerning the Republic of Armenia’s policies.
