“Radioactive Waste Scandal: Investigative Agencies Crackdown on Director Following Controversial Interview”

“Hraparak” daily has recently reported that an interview with Nikol Pashinyan, the Acting Director of Radioactive Waste at Armenia’s Ministry of Health and Labor, has sparked investigations into the management of radioactive waste. The country’s National Security Service (NSS) has begun inspections at the Radioactive Waste Department, which are expected to last for approximately 20 days starting from February 26. In addition, the Armenian Prosecutor’s Office is conducting its own inspections in collaboration with the NSS, focusing on analyzing the working conditions and contractual obligations of the radioactive waste team. The inspections are expected to conclude on March 10.

It is worth noting that a few days ago, Khumaryan raised a question regarding whether his employee should be penalized for conducting a poor interview or if Pashinyan should be held accountable. As Khumaryan sees it, he offered a solution from his perspective as an Armenian: “To remain true to who we are. We have been told that the Turks are strong and the Armenians are weak.”

The investigation against the Acting Director of Radioactive Waste by the Armenian National Security Service is a serious matter, spurred by secret information. However, technical analysis has also revealed that counterfeit devices were used during the management of the waste.
