“Marble Facade Collapse: Narrow Escape in Yerevan as Car Crushed, Gas Leaks”

On March 2, an incident took place in Yerevan. According to Shamshyan.com, the National Crisis Management Center of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report at 11:50 stating that the marble facade of a building under construction on 5 Manuk Abeghyan Street had collapsed. Gagik Shamshyan, a photojournalist, reported that the 8th district emergency rescuers had been on duty in Yerevan since March 1.

The scene was also attended by the 3rd district firefighters of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, led by fire commander Gor Arakelyan and his deputy Albert Hovhannisyan.

Fortunately, there were no injuries resulting from the collapse. However, the facade, which was around 50 meters long and 7 meters high, fell onto a Nissan car owned by a resident. The car’s gas cylinder was damaged, leading to a gas leak.
