Iran’s President Raisi Faces Backlash for Controversial Remarks on Islamic Countries’ Response to Gaza Conflict

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has come under fire for his recent remarks regarding certain Islamic countries involved in territorial disputes with Israel in relation to the Gaza conflict. Raisi expressed his frustration during a meeting with the leadership of the 7th Forum of Gas Exporting Countries in Algeria, where he criticized the lack of concrete action against Zionist acts of sabotage in Gaza, despite condemnations from regional governments. The president also mentioned that attempts by regional authorities to address the Palestinian crisis have been hindered by interference from what he described as a “destructive and idiotic” lobby. Raisi questioned the credibility of Islamic governments that claim to represent the aspirations of the oppressed while their actions remain criminal and futile.
