On March 1, at 18:45, the central office of the Kocayk region’s municipal administration received a fire alarm reporting a fire near one of the houses on the outskirts of Marmarik village. The emergency management of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations was immediately notified of the situation. It was discovered that the fire had originated on the second floor of a house on 4th street, causing significant damage to the wooden roof structures. The fire was successfully extinguished at 23:49, but not before it had destroyed the roof structures and approximately 500 hectares of open space. In tackling the fire, 20 residents of the village, along with the assistance of 2 fire trucks and 1 tractor, worked together to extinguish the flames.
