The management of South Korea is showing interest in implementing changes to the North Korean reunification policy in the next 30 years. This is the first time they are considering the strategy of a “liberal government” in the unification process. According to Yonhap news agency, this update to the policy aims to align it more closely with the concept of “liberal government based on the reunification” of the National Unification Committee.

The representative from the president’s administration stated, “In the 70 years of division, the South and the North have achieved varying results, clearly indicating that this path is correct and desirable for everyone.” The updated military strategy, which is in line with the new reunification policy, is expected to be announced on August 15, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the military alliance
