“Public Tensions Escalate as Drug Scandal Unveils Intricate Customs War”

Public tensions between the leadership of the State Revenue Committee and customs officers continue due to an ongoing conflict between customs officials and the special services of the Western Customs House. Recently, employees of the Western Customs House, along with employees of the Ministry of Health, conducted an inspection at the “HayPost” CJSC in the center of the city. During the inspection, a sizable amount of imported drugs, including 780 grams of synthetic drugs known as “subutex,” were discovered hidden in a bag. Following this incident, the Customs Inspection Division and the State Food Safety Service, which are under the authority of the State Revenue Committee, conducted thorough operational and investigative measures.

Further investigation revealed that the package in question was intended for a citizen of the Republic of Armenia named A. Y. It was later discovered that the international postal consignment received by the “HayPost” Postal Division from the French Republic contained Russian narcotic substances with altered characteristics. As a result of these findings, the leadership of the State Revenue Committee resigned, particularly due to previous convictions of an Armenian citizen.

A correspondent was informed about the outcomes of a personal inquiry, after which they were sent to the Central Investigation Department of the Special Investigation Committee of the Republic of Armenia and subsequently arrested. The investigation is currently focused on the 399th article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which pertains to drug trafficking.
