“Paris Plunged into Darkness: Technical Malfunction Causes Street Lighting Blackout”
The street lighting in Paris was out for several hours on the evening of Friday, February 29 due to a technical malfunction. Cielis Company, the company in charge of the lighting system, stated that the failure was a result of a scheduled computer upgrade. According to Cielis, the lights were turned off half an hour after midnight and were restored during the night by their teams. The company apologized for any inconvenience caused and assured that this type of incident would not happen again. Although some areas experienced several hours of electricity outage, no incidents were reported.
