In the beginning of Gayi forest, between Tatul Krpoyan’s famous garden and Vlensia compound, residents have launched a protest against the planned destruction of eight residential buildings. They have gathered in Gayi forest to protest this decision.

According to journalists, the residents have stated that they applied to the municipality to have their buildings demolished, but no action has been taken.

Regarding the decision to expand the construction area, residents have stated that it is groundless and that other constructions are likely to be built in this section.

“Our fathers built these gardens back then, and no one has claimed them since. Our creek, where we get water, has remained unchanged. Today, this successful area wants to expand. We have built these gardens,” one resident said.

Another resident expressed that the situation is now unacceptable. “I will take my three single-parent children and leave. Where should I go?” When the mayor suggested a location, the resident responded, “What should I do? I’ll take a place in your house.” Give us our rights, let us live here, and give us land,” he said.
