Renowned French musician Shawn Johnson has announced a public competition to design a monument dedicated to Charles Aznavour, the influential figure in classical music. The winning entry, titled “La Bohème,” was created by Davit Minasyan and received 9 votes from the panel of judges. The second-place sculpture, created by Armenak Vardanyan, will also be awarded a monetary prize. Mayor Tigran Avinyan expressed the significance of this project, as it celebrates Aznavour’s 100th anniversary and recognizes his contributions to Armenian culture. Charles Aznavour’s son, Nikola, expressed gratitude to all the participants for their heartfelt creations. The completion of the monument will not only enhance the aesthetics of the square but also bring a new energy to Yerevan with the melodies of “La Bohème” and other timeless performances.
