“Head Judge Anna Vardapetyan Dismisses Cases in Ajapnyak and Davtashen, Marking a Significant Decrease in Judicial Proceedings”

The head judge, Anna Vardapetyan, decided to dismiss the cases of Ajapnyak and Davtashen, administrative districts of Malatia-Sebastia, on February 28, 2024. This information was reported by the Chief Judicial Body of the Republic of Armenia to NEWS.am.

Judge Jora Tovmasyan provided information stating that in 2023, there were 1,736 registered cases of judicial proceedings in the Ajapnyak and Davtashen districts of Yerevan. This number is a decrease of 476 or 21.5% compared to the 2,212 cases registered in 2022. The cases of medium severity have decreased by 57 or 10%, while cases of serious severity have increased by 33 or 13.5%. Additionally, cases of very serious severity have increased by 43 or 67.2% compared to 2022.

Private litigations have also decreased significantly. In 2023, there were 558 cases, which is a decrease of 414 or 42.6% compared to the 972 cases registered in 2022.

Regarding criminal offenses, there were 10 cases registered in 2022 compared to 5 cases in 2023, a decrease of 138 or 5.1%. Litigations related to the mortgage field also declined, with 371 cases registered in 2023 compared to 411 cases in 2022.

The judge also provided information on the public sector defense in 2023. There were 2 studies conducted, revealing 188 cases related to primary school and 207 cases related to kindergarten. In comparison to the previous year, housing disputes decreased by 36 cases, with 48 cases in 2023 and 84 cases in 2022.

In the field of state-owned kindergartens, there were 998 cases registered in 2023, a decrease from the 1,359 cases registered in 2022.

Furthermore, there were 353 cases of hospitalization related to food poisoning registered in 2023, a significant increase from the 153 cases registered in 2022. In the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, 267 criminal proceedings were sent to court in 2023 compared to 206 cases involving 219 people in 2022.

During the same period, there were 13 petitions and 1 property claim filed with the court, compared to only 1 petition in 2022. One of the petitions involves the “Shogher” turf destruction process conducted by the former director of the Malatia-Sebastia vegetable community of Yerevan.
