“Senator’s Bold Move to Ban Pornographic Films Sparks Controversy and Implications for Social Media”

American Senator Dasti Divers from Oklahoma has proposed a new regulation aimed at controlling the distribution and production of erotic content that lacks legitimate literary, artistic, educational, political, or scientific purposes, according to a report in the New York Post.

The ban would cover all materials of this nature and is part of a project called “Indecent Material.” This proposal defines explicit sexual acts or descriptions, including both normal and abnormal, actual or simulated acts. It also prohibits the possession, search, or transmission of explicit images of human sexual organs or female breasts, as well as any display of indecent behavior within a sexual context. Furthermore, the ban extends to materials such as films, video games, and texts that depict sadomasochistic violence or acts of sexual violence.

The consequences for violating this proposed legislation are severe, including imprisonment for up to one year and a fine of two thousand dollars. In Oklahoma, producers of explicit content face an even higher penalty of ten thousand dollars if found in violation.

The ban, however, would not apply to married couples who share explicit photos and videos exclusively with each other.

If this law is accepted, the content on many social networking sites may become inaccessible or heavily censored as a result.
