“Snowy Chaos: Multiple Regions in Armenia Paralyzed, Roads Closed and Traffic Disrupted”

On January 24, at 20:30, snowfall was reported in several regions of Armenia including Ararat, Ejmiatsin, Talin, Ashotsk, Aparan, Aragats, Vanadzor, Gavar, Dilijan, Jermuk, Nairi, Abovian, Sevan, Goris, Chambarak, Tavush, Vayk, Kapan, and Megrin. This snowfall has had a significant impact on traffic in these areas.

Due to the heavy snow and icy road conditions, several important mountain passes and roads have been closed for all types of transportation. The Vardenyats Pass, Jermuk’s mountain roads up to Gorayk, Vayots Dzor-Dilijan, Goris-Sisian, and Vanadzor-Dilijan roads are among those affected. Furthermore, the roads in the northeastern region and in Dilijan are proving to be difficult for transportation.

As a result of the snowfall, visibility on the Ashtarak, Aparan, and Aragats roads has been greatly reduced. Additionally, periodic road blockages have been reported on the roads in Ashtarak, Abovian, Gavar, Jermuk, Aragats, and Rome-Artik-Alagyaz.

However, it is worth noting that other local and interregional roads remain open at present.

These weather conditions are of utmost importance to the people of Armenia, and further updates will be provided as the situation continues to develop.
