“Former Prime Minister Mikayel Harutyunyan Faces Testimony from Key Witnesses in Barjumkar Corruption Case”

The newspaper “Zhoghovurd” has reported that the Special Investigative Service is calling in Karin Jallavyan, a volunteer for the organization “Eghnikner,” and Karen Jallavyan, also known as Kxo and a hero of Artsakh, to testify in the criminal case against former Prime Minister Mikayel Harutyunyan. The case pertains to allegations of corruption involving the Barjumkar neighborhood development in Yerevan. The trial is currently being held behind closed doors.

It is worth mentioning that Mikayel Harutyunyan was detained from October 30 to November 9, 2020, on charges related to the organization of protection in Yerevan and the surrounding regions during a state of emergency in the city of Shushi. He is accused of committing illegal actions within the scope of his official duties, with substantial evidence of his personal involvement. The Committee of Inquiry has stated that the opposing armed forces exploited their strength to capture Shushi, resulting in casualties and injuries among the Armenian forces.
