In two separate incidents in the Gegharkunik province of Armenia, drivers were detained for drug-related offenses. On January 19, a 23-year-old resident was stopped by patrol cars from Vardenis town when he attempted to escape and hinder a search. The following day, on January 20, patrol cars from the same province stopped a car with the license plate “BMV” on the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway. The 26-year-old driver also tried to escape and hinder the search. He was detained after a brief struggle and taken to the Sevan division of the police.
