“Gegharkunik Province Hit by Devastating Flood; Rescue Operations Underway as Residents Evacuated to Safety”

A natural disaster struck the Gegharkunik province today, on January 23. The mayor of Tsavak village alerted the National Crisis Management Center about flooding near the village in the Sevana Lake area, requesting assistance to evacuate residents. Currently, a team of 34 rescuers, including divers and city officials, is monitoring the situation. This collaborative effort involves rescuers, divers, and residents working together to conduct rescue operations. As a precautionary measure, residents have been evacuated from a distance of 300-400 meters from the water and 5 meters from the flooded area. They have been safely transported to land using boats provided by the divers. Understanding the gravity of the situation, the crisis was addressed in a cabinet meeting held in Vardenis.
