“Frozen Fury Strikes Armenia: Heavy Snowfall and Arctic Winds Expected to Blanket the Nation”

The Republic of Armenia is expected to see heavy snowfall on January 23 and 24, due to the influence of a cyclone and Arctic frontal winds. The snowfall will be widespread, particularly in Yerevan, the central areas of the country, and the mountainous regions. Low visibility is expected, especially at night and in the morning, which could impact travel on the republic’s highways.

According to the Hydro-meteorological Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the temperature will also drop by 7-9 degrees on the evening of January 23 and during the night of the 24th. This sudden decrease in temperature could contribute to the severity of the snowfall.

Residents of Armenia should take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of heavy snowfall. It is advised to stay indoors whenever possible, especially during times of low visibility. If travel is unavoidable, drivers should exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations. Additionally, it is recommended to have emergency kits and supplies stocked up in case of any power outages or disruptions.

Local authorities are working diligently to clear roads and keep highways safe for commuters. It is important for residents to stay updated on the latest weather reports and follow any instructions or advisories from authorities.

As always, our team at NEWS.am will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on the snowfall and its impact on the Republic of Armenia. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
