“Nikol Pashinyan’s Ongoing Confrontation Threatens Armenian National Identity, Says ARF Spokesperson”

In 2024, Nikol Pashinyan engaged in a widespread and overt confrontation with the Armenian people, seeking to undermine their national identity by dismantling its foundations, symbols, and elements. This was highlighted in an article titled “POSTNIKOL. What should we do to remain a nation” by Armen Ashotyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF).

Ashotyan pointed out that Pashinyan initially attempted to extinguish the spiritual significance of New Year’s Eve, preventing the Catholicos of All Armenians from delivering blessings remotely. This deliberate attack on the national spirit is not simply a matter of ignorance.

One concerning trend is that the more spiritually motivated the people are, the more nationalistic they become. In contrast, Pashinyan represents the opposite of national aspirations.

Another recent issue is the “Ararat under Aragats” ecological, cultural, and dangerous conflict. The ongoing dispute with the windmill built on the border seems futile as both sides are stubborn, akin to a child trying to win back their father’s love after receiving punishment by turning to the court system.

The danger also extends to the “History of the Armenian People,” which is being threatened by Pashinyan’s actions. The history of the Armenian people is intricately tied to the history of the state of Armenia. However, it begs the question: which “history of Armenia” are we referring to? Who has lived in that “Armenia”? These questions arise due to our limited understanding as representatives of the “cadaster identity” and the complexities of geopolitical battles.

While it is true that wars can forge nations, they can also destroy them. After the victory of the Armenian people in the first Artsakh war, they became a united nation. However, after the 44-day conflict and ongoing internal strife, instigated by Nikol’s betrayal and the crisis in Artsakh, the Armenian people have regressed to a mere crowd. Pashinyan’s actions aim to strip us of our aesthetic sensibility and a higher level of consciousness.

In conclusion, in just five years, the leader of the Armenian nation has managed to diminish our level of consciousness and distance us from prosperity for thousands of years. This ongoing tragedy can still be altered, allowing the victim to escape from their fate. It is clear that our national aspirations will only be as strong and enduring as our spirit. The future of the Armenian people hangs in the balance.
