The two-day conference titled “Kilikia Analytical Platform,” organized by the National Security Service of Armenia, concluded with the participation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The conference took place at the headquarters of the Catholicosate of Kilikia in Antelias. The expanded virtual platform brought together Armenian experts and historians from various regions, including Armenia, Artsakh, the United States, Greece, France, and Lebanon, among others. During the conference, discussions were held on topics related to “Armenian World and Regional Developments” as part of the comprehensive program.

Throughout the conference, esteemed professionals such as Prof. Ashot Melkonyan, Prof. Ruben Safrastyan, Dr. Armen Maroukian, Dr. Vahram Balayan, Dr. Hrach Palayan, Dr. Khachik Der Ghukasian, Dr. Vigen Chtryan, Tigran Ekmekjian, Dr. Nora Parygataryan, Shahan Gantaharyan, and Aharon Shkhrtumyan engaged in discussions regarding the new developments in the region. They addressed topics including Azerbaijan’s aggression, the consequences of military operations, psychological and propaganda attacks, international legal assessments, information campaigns aiming to discredit Azerbaijan’s actions, military action programs, and spiritual and cultural defense.

The Council made several important decisions during the conference. Firstly, it condemned the genocide of Azerbaijani and foreign experts in the international field of genocide. Additionally, the Council expressed concern over the developments in Artsakh that occurred in the early 20th century, considering it an important step towards the pan-national consolidation of Armenia, Artsakh, and non-Armenian experts. Furthermore, the Council emphasized that the issue of Artsakh is not closed and that it is necessary to resist abuse, aggression, and ongoing violations. The Council stated that the issue of Artsakh represents the national potential of Armenia, the entire Armenian world, and the diaspora.

To combat the potential national disaster, the Council emphasized the need to strengthen spiritual and cultural defense and to coordinate activities with international structures. The conference also called for the inclusion of a strong Armenia and a powerful Artsakh in the program of targeted work for the rebirth of the unified nation. The Council reached several decisions, including inviting foreign experts and historians to the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin on April 24, 2024, for an international scientific conference. They also decided to invite the “Kilikia Analytical Platform” to Yerevan for expert consultations in January 2024.

The Council also determined that an independent investigation should be conducted to assess the activities and consequences of Azerbaijan from 2016 to 2023 on Artsakh, including military operations. They aimed to identify methods and mechanisms for revising judgments and addressing the consequences of international trials. The assessment of economic losses in areas affected by vandalism and damage caused to spiritual-cultural heritage was also addressed, and a list of damages was to be prepared. Furthermore, the Council instructed Catholicos Aram I of Cilicia and the Catholicosate’s Governing Body to arrange a meeting with the head of Armenia’s defense and the commander of the armed forces to ensure secure conditions for military activities.

The participants of the conference stressed the importance of holding regular analytical meetings to discuss and elaborate on the comprehensive programs of their respective groups’ activities.
