Armenian Rescue Service Issues Warning: Closed and Difficult Roads Pose Hazards for Drivers

The rescue service has issued a warning about closed and challenging roads in the Republic of Armenia. Until February 15, the M-6 main highway will be closed for approximately 38-40 km to facilitate the renovation works on the Masis-Vanadzor-Alaverdi major highway. During this time, buses with passengers or loaded with cargo will be redirected through the city of Noyemberyan. In addition, the roads leading to the “Amberd” high mountain weather station and Amberd fortress, as well as Lake Qari in Aragatsotn province, are closed. Furthermore, the roads in Syunik province are difficult to navigate for loaded transport vehicles.

Fortunately, the Stephantsminda-Lars highway remains open for all types of transport vehicles. However, drivers are advised to exercise caution due to icy conditions. It is crucial to stay updated on the latest road conditions and follow any instructions or suggestions from authorities.

These road closures and difficulties may cause disruptions and inconveniences, but they are necessary for the improvement and maintenance of the country’s infrastructure. Safety should always be a priority, and drivers should be prepared for potential delays or alternative routes.

Stay informed and stay safe!
