The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has signed a decree to extend financial assistance and suspend the partial government shutdown, as reported by the White House. The extension of financial assistance will be in effect until two new deadlines, namely March 1 and 8. Lawmakers are currently working on reaching an agreement on various spending issues.

On Thursday, both chambers of the US Congress decided to extend short-term financial assistance. The Senate approved the plan with 77 in favor and 18 against. The House of Representatives also accepted the plan, although with a narrower margin, with 314 in favor and 108 against.
