Today, on January 19th, a significant and tragic car accident occurred in Syunik province, resulting from the severe weather conditions. At approximately 12:10 PM on the Yerevan-Meghri highway, a Mitsubishi Grandis and a truck with Scania brand signs collided. Sadly, one person lost their life in the crash, and two others sustained various injuries and were promptly transferred to the hospital.

The local residents, police officers, and representatives from the Ministry of Emergency Situations swiftly came to the aid of the first responders at the scene of the accident.

Additionally, an ambulance belonging to the rescue service was involved in another mishap at the location. The truck had already been damaged from the initial collision.

Providing preliminary information, the Syunik regional administration of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a military helicopter had been dispatched to the site to examine the bodies of the drivers, the deceased victim, and the injured parties.
