“Arson Attack Damages National Gallery’s Inventory in Yerevan – Investigation Underway”

Last night, a devastating fire broke out in the 2nd sector of the Kamarit building in Yerevan, damaging the inventory of the National Gallery of Armenia’s Cultural Management Center. The fire, suspected to be an act of arson, specifically targeted the plastic elements of the residential complex.

Members of an opera group from the cultural department of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district were quick to respond and participated in extinguishing the flames. Their heroic efforts prevented the fire from spreading further, but unfortunately, the damage to the community of Yerevan is estimated to be worth 1 million drams.

The incident, which occurred on January 14th, 15th, and 16th, is currently under investigation by law enforcement agencies. The Malatia administrative department and the fire brigade have collaborated to identify evidence of arson, linking it to negative work outcomes and provocative actions.

The preliminary body has been presented with the evidence and related documents, marking the initiation of a thorough investigation to hold the responsible parties accountable for their actions.
