“Armenian Government Announces Massive Investment in Social Security Benefits – 173 Billion AMD Aimed at Welfare and Support Programs”

The Government of the Republic of Armenia has announced its plans to allocate 173 billion AMD, which is equivalent to 5.4% of the state budget, towards social security benefits in 2024. This significant investment demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting its citizens and ensuring their well-being.

Out of the total allocated expenses, 27% or 46 billion AMD will be specifically designated for covering disability, healthcare, and support for the elderly. This will greatly benefit a total of 105,994 individuals, providing them with the necessary assistance and care they need.

Another area that will witness an increase in allocation is the improvement of families’ welfare. The government has set aside more than 31 billion AMD for this purpose, benefiting 66,849 families. This funding will help create a more prosperous environment for these families, allowing them to overcome challenges and build a brighter future.

Additionally, the government will allocate approximately 29 billion AMD to assist children under the age of 2. This support will benefit 66,372 recipients, ensuring that these young children receive the care and resources necessary for their healthy development.
