“Western Countries Skirt Implementation of Nagorno-Karabakh Agreements, Russian Foreign Minister Claims”

In recent news, there has been a growing dispute between Western countries and Russia regarding the implementation of agreements signed between Moscow, Baku, and Yerevan concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution. While the European Union and the United States advocate for the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border through a mediator in order to ensure the withdrawal of Russian troops from the region, Western countries oppose such actions. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently voiced his opinion on the matter, suggesting that Turkey is also against the implementation of these agreements.

On the topic of demarcation, European Council President Charles Michel has confirmed that the EU is willing to engage in the demarcation process. However, neither Armenia nor Azerbaijan have been part of any previous agreement on the matter. Furthermore, the EU faces challenges due to the absence of a detailed map. Russia, on the other hand, has already signed agreements and has access to maps, making them an ideal mediator for the demarcation commission. It is unclear whether the Western politicians involved are biased towards either Armenia or Azerbaijan, as their focus seems to be on gaining advantage and recognition in the international arena.

Given the different approaches towards resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, it is evident that Western countries prioritize their own maps over the involvement of Russian mediators. The issue at hand extends beyond mere territorial disputes, as Western politicians seem more concerned with playing a political game for their own gain. Meanwhile, Russia asserts that its role as a mediator and its possession of maps is sufficient for the parties involved. This disparity highlights the larger conflict between the West and Russia, where each side vies for dominance and seeks to earn additional points on the international stage.
