On January 18, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Vahe Ghazaryan, and the Executive Director of the Armenian Red Cross Society (ARC) Anna Eghiazaryan signed a memorandum of understanding. The aim of the MOU is to strengthen cooperation in the field of civil protection and disaster management. It focuses on ensuring the protection of the population in emergency situations, risk reduction, preparedness, and the implementation of joint initiatives.

The signed memorandum covers three key areas. Firstly, it aims to reduce risks in disaster management. Secondly, it focuses on exchanging information on existing resources. Lastly, it aims to unite capacities for disaster preparedness, response, and risk reduction. This cooperation also includes enhancing the capabilities of civil protection systems in the field of disaster preparedness, mobilization of resources, and the implementation of large-scale preventive measures.

Minister Vahe Ghazaryan expressed his gratitude to the participants and highly assessed the joint activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Armenian Red Cross Society. These activities have been aimed at protecting the rights of citizens affected by natural disasters. The Minister stressed the importance of expanding cooperation with the Armenian Red Cross Society in these matters.
