The Russian government has announced that it will send an observation mission to participate in the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan. Leonid Kalashnikov, the head of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly’s working group on European integration and Eurasian relations, made this announcement after meeting with representatives from the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the European integration department, and the compatriots’ connections department. When asked about the approval, Kalashnikov confirmed that it has already been granted. The presidential elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled to take place on February 7, 2024.
