“French Resident Wins Massive 88 Million Euro Jackpot in EuroMillions, Becoming 125th French Winner!”

A French resident has become the first jackpot winner of EuroMillions in 2024, taking home a whopping 88 million euros. The announcement was made on the lottery’s official website last Thursday, revealing that the lucky player had successfully matched all the winning numbers. With this win, France now boasts a total of 125 jackpot winners, making it the second highest country in terms of EuroMillions winners. The UK holds the top spot with 126 winners, according to the statement.

The inaugural EuroMillions draw took place on February 13, 2004, involving three countries: France, Spain, and the UK. As the years went by, more countries joined in October 2004, including Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal, Ireland, and Austria. However, the draws are exclusively hosted in Switzerland. It’s interesting to note that participating in the EuroMillions only requires a two-euro ticket, attracting a massive pool of around 200 million participants from all over Europe.
