An explosion has occurred at a factory producing explosives in the city of Shakhti in the Rostov region, according to the regional administration of the Russian Federation AIIN. The incident took place in the production area of the “Avangard” factory in the village of Gidroprikhodnyy, near Shakhti. At 11:30, rescue services received a call about the explosion. While there is no information about any victims, smoke can be seen rising from the building and long white trails are visible in the sky.

The governor of the Rostov region, Petr Dumaev, who also heads the Emergency Situations Ministry, stated that two people have been injured and are currently in the hospital. Witnesses have reported hearing the sounds of shots prior to the explosion.

This incident in Shakhti serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with the production of explosives. As investigations into the cause of the explosion continue, authorities will work towards preventing similar incidents in the future and ensuring the safety of factory workers and nearby residents.
